There are two ways to live: You can live as if nothing is a miracle, or as if everything is a miracle.” -Albert Einstein
What Wolfson Children’s Hospital does in our community everyday is nothing short of a miracle. That’s why we’re celebrating the miracle of life during the 2009 Art & Antiques Show.
Envision images of the ocean — water, sand, coral, shells — the miracles of nature. The 2009 show will be filled with the colors and elements that celebrate the wondrous, extraordinary miracles that surround us everyday.
Recognized as one of the premier antiques and decorative arts shows in the country, the Art & Antiques Show features more than 50 of the finest dealers and galleries in the nation. Proceeds raised through this year’s show will fund two projects: the new Kid Kare Van, an ambulance tailored to the most fragile infants and sick children in our community; and the new Behavioral Health Unit, reaching out to children facing complex medical issues and psychological concerns.
The 2009 show begins on Wednesday, December 2, at the elegant Opening Night Party. This black-tie evening will refresh your senses with its ocean-inspired theme, cocktails, dinner and dancing. And — party guests are the first to preview beautiful art and antiques while enjoying the evening.
The three-day show, December 3–5, is filled with special events and unique opportunities. Choose a lecture from four nationally known lecturers; learn to “shop the show;” schedule an appraisal with show manager, Charlie Miller; or view the exquisite special Collector’s Exhibit — Miracles of the Sea: An Exhibit of Majolica Inspired by Sea Life. Attend one or all but know that your support will help Wolfson Children’s Hospital meet the medical needs of area children.
The Children’s Fashion Show, held on Saturday, December 5, is truly the heart of the event. Featuring current and former patients of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the eighth annual fashion show will reflect the spirit and mission of The Women’s Board and all who are involved with the Art & Antiques Show — ensuring the very best health care for the children we serve.
Whether they are the wonders of our Northeast Florida community or the miracles delivered by the caregivers and facilities of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, show chairwomen Kendra McCrary and Deborah Moore invite you to join The Women’s Board for the 33rd Art & Antiques Show dedicated to delivering miraculous possibilities for the children of our community.
